Where were you while we were getting high?

Last February, I went to Philippine Travel Mart and I got a good deal of two tickets to Tree Top Adventure in Subic at 50% off. The package includes six adventures to embark on and the normal rate is Php 1,100 per person. I got it for only Php 550. Sweet.

After being hidden inside my purse for almost a year, we finally decided to use the vouchers last month to celebrate our 47th month (hihi monthsaries are fun). We headed north on a Friday night and devoted the whole Saturday to getting our own dose of adrenalin rush at Tree Top Adventure Park. It’s fun to scare yourself sometimes!

Here are some photos:

The park is surrounded by hanging bridges covered with variety of tall trees and foliage stock. It feels nice to walk through the lush greenery after several screams of adrenaline rush. Yes, I screamed.

Everyone must have a signed waiver before you can start with the adventure. I was also asked if I have any physical impairments or heart condition and for about 3 seconds, I debated in my mind whether or not I should tell that I have mild scoliosis lol. I’m not good at lying so I told them and they didn’t care. Hah!

Our adventure package consisted of 6 rides: Canopy Ride, Superman Ride, Trekking Adventure, Silver Surfer, Interactive Free Fall and Tree Drop Adventure (the scariest!).

Interactive Free Fall was first on our list. It pulls you up as high as 90 feet then suddenly drops you down for about five times. That feeling like your heart is jumping? Rollercoaster rush x 100.

Silver Surfer lets you surf in the air while enjoying the lush greenery of Subic. We got to enjoy the majestic rainforest view from 80 feet high. Sounds fun, huh? Lies. What I really did: let out the most awful scream with eyes closed. Hah!

Superman Ride covers 2 platforms of up to 140 meters long and 100 meters high. My butt hurt after being securely suspended face down and feet up.

Canopy Ride is the nature-appreciation ride. We took 5 motorized cable rides from up to 100 feet above the ground. Err, it was a bit boring. We didn’t finish the trail ‘cause we had to rush to Trekking Adventure.

The highlight of Trekking Adventure is the wilderness survival tutorial on how to build fire using primitive tools and equipment. There’s nothing much to do here.

Tree Drop Adventure is the maximum adrenaline rush! I still have my ticket with me because I didn’t try it. Hah! You have to rapell down the side of a 60-foot tree in Australian style meaning face first. I tried rapelling back in college and I cried for almost an hour. Even the boyfriend screamed lols!

Btw, if you’re looking for a place to stay in, you might want to try Ridgecrest Gradens Hotel in Olongapo City. Room is available for only Php 1,100, good for two persons. And yes, with free wifi. Wifi is now a necessity, isn’t it?

PS. Visit Philippine Travel Mart from Ferbuary 17 to 19 at SMX Convention Center for some exciting travel deals!
