The Accidental Ombre

I spent the last day of 2011 in a cheap salon. My friend and I were itching to dye my hair before the new year so five hours before Media Noche, we headed to a friend’s salon with hopes of getting a happy new hair.

I was kind of hesitant to get a lighter shade because it has been dyed solid black a year ago. It looked like a wig lols. I’ve been wanting to have this color back but my fave salon always refuses to dye my hair with brown. Apparently, a lighter shade will not be visible if hair has permanent black color. Also, effects could be damaging because black dye uses strong chemicals. So, I’ve waited over a year for it to fade and grow only to find out that half of it still has strong color of jet black. Hence, the accidental ombre. Heh.

It’s an ugly two-toned hair with medium ash brown at the roots then gradually darkening to solid black at the end - reversed ombre. Fugly.

Good thing we are crazy busy at the office for the past few days that my boss did not notice my new hair color. Our office does not allow light hair color. They are clearly against self expression lol which is the reason why I had my hair dyed black last year. My hair does not affect my work performance, JSYK mamser.

Lesson learned: I will never color my hair black again. Only Katy Perry can pull off the striking jet black hair. Meehh.

I’m thinking of cutting my hair short so I can get rid of the harsh black tips. Or maybe not because I want to keep my long hair. The decisions we make that sculpt our lives. Oh, joy.
